Accessibility Statement

Sicilian Oven wants every guest to be able to find us, read our menu and reach the people who run our restaurants. We are working to make this website usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or rely on magnification or high contrast.

The standard we work to

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.

What we have done so far

This is work in progress, not a finished state. As of August 2026:

• Every page has a “skip to content” link and a visible keyboard focus indicator.
• Form fields are programmatically associated with their labels, so a screen reader announces what each field is for, and related checkboxes are grouped.
• Location hours are marked up as real data tables with row headers, so the day and its hours are read together.
• Body text and link colours have been measured against the WCAG AA contrast minimums and corrected across most of the site. Some smaller red text and a few elements on our darker pages are still being worked through.
• Images carry text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology rather than announced.
• Headings follow a consistent outline so the page can be navigated by structure.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you what is not finished than claim more than we have done.

• We have not yet completed testing with a screen reader or by keyboard alone across the whole site. Until we have, we cannot promise every interaction works well, and we would genuinely like to hear about it if one does not.
• Some controls that are not standard buttons or links — for example a star-rating control — may not yet behave predictably with every assistive technology.
• Contrast has been measured on our light pages. Our darker, image-led pages have not been fully re-measured.
• Some touch targets are smaller than the recommended minimum, and our interactive map's pins cannot yet be reached by keyboard. The map page also provides the same information as a plain list, which can be used instead.
• Online ordering, the table waitlist and delivery are provided by third parties — Toast, Uber Eats and DoorDash. Those experiences are outside our control, and we are asking each provider for their accessibility conformance information. If you hit a barrier there, please tell us and we will help you complete your order another way, including by phone.

• Please tell us the page or the restaurant, what you were trying to do, and what got in the way. It helps us reproduce and fix it.

We aim to respond within three business days.

Ongoing work

We test this site with automated tools and by keyboard, and we re-test after changes. Accessibility is not a one-time project for us; if you find something we have missed, telling us is the fastest way to get it fixed.
